2011 year in review..

Hi. let's talk about that 2011... Despite not playing a single show, 2011 was actually a pretty darn tootin' good year for the Tambourine Club. In August, a five song EP entitled "lo-fi feeling" was released for free on Bandcamp, to great positive feedback / reviews / mentions..
Here are just a few reviews/ mentions, etc..:
INK review
Riot on the plaza
My Car is Full of Plums

Also in August, artist / friend Danny Gibson asked the club to be included on an awesome music compilation, "DJG WAS HERE", which was released to coincide with an art exhibition of Danny's entitled "Quietly Contributing - Poster Art of DJG Design". On display at the exhibition were tons of Danny's posters and artwork done for many Kansas City bands/artists throughout the years. You can read more about it and Danny HERE.
The Tambourine Club track "Kansas City" was included on the compilation, along w/ "Reckon my Soul" (Bryan Lamanno/yourstruly exclusive to comp. ). You can download the whole compilation which includes lots of great music for FREE HERE.

..sometime after August, a sweet stop-animation music video was made for the "intro" song off the "lo-fi feeling" EP. It was made by Danny Gibson, and can be seen on the club's Youtube Channel HERE.
there are a couple of other videos as well, one for "only in the night", and we're looking to get some more videos made..takers?

In December "WHITE OUT", a two song holiday-ish album was released for free on bandcamp. Check it out here..

Though not free anymore, the EP "lo-fi feeling" can now be bought just about anywhere your digital little heart desires..Amazon, Itunes, Emusic, Bandcamp, etc..just search for it..

Also, the song "Dry Your Eyes", made my buddy Chris' top 20 songs of 2011 list, which is an honor, as he is one of the best songwriters I know ( download Fancy Face to see what I'm talking about ) , and he's a harsh music critic! Much more exciting than the other 'year-end' lists that are full of mostly the same names re-ordered...imo..

and I think that's a wrap on 2011. We've got some sweet ltd. edition cassette tapes of "lo-fi feeling" on their way, recording new songs, and gonna get out and play some shows this year, hopefully more than ever in more places than ever...PATIENCE....
